I don't like Glee.
I'm sorry - I tried! I love musicals, and I love dark and/or subversive comedies.
But I don't like many of the characters, and it seems like the more I dislike them, the more screen time they get. And the ones I do like, such as Puck, are still pretty shallow.
Every single one of the plot lines are boring me to tears. I started fast forwarding through parts quite a few episodes ago, and I'm down to just watching the musical numbers (which I do enjoy), and about two minutes total of the rest of it, in roughly 30 second snippets at a time. I'm pretty sure I haven't missed anything as a result - so far, I've been able to follow what's happening without a problem.
And the timeline is driving me crazy! I've forgiven the instant perfection of the singing, background music, and choreography, on the basis of it being a conceit of the whole musical genre. But I can't figure out how many months(?) are supposed to have passed. When are sectionals anyway? At the end of the school year? ( general spoilers ) This is hurting my head.
